Yes, it is easy for those who were not very personally attacked (from stuff about my parents and my job to my record from nearly 20 years ago) to say, let it go...Stuff about my parents, really??

The other problem with letting it go is that this guy keeps on bullying people with everyone too scared or polite to call him out... What was it that Scorehose said about political correctness?

Several people have pledged support with personal messages and that means the world to me. It is not easy seeing someone you looked up to completely trash you in such a very personal way and stand by doing and saying nothing...

I was taught to stand up to bullies and I won't apologize for sticking up for myself....

Lastly, if Druid can dish it out he can certainly take it, or needs to learn to. By the way, the only reason he did not respond is because he has already said all there is to say when it comes to very personal insults.

By the way, of course he has never met me or my parents. Interesting that he is being praised for taking the high road after attacking me in such a personal way...

He is also very arrogant about how good he is, so I don't see posting one of his last place teams as being that big of a deal. After all he is a "Legend"... Cheers!

Sigh...

You are not listening to what just about everyone is saying.

There is a difference between standing up to bullies and striking out for revenge. Revenge rarely ends well for the person seeking it. And even when successful it rarely truly makes good people feel better. Watch the movie "You've Got Mail".

Probably going to give up after this final bit of advice. You should not be ever giving away sufficient information about yourself to anyone online ever. If you are using your real name as your screen name stop it. We should all know better than that by now. If you do use your real name then you should not mind if people search it and discuss what they find. If you do mind then do not put it out there.

The internet is a very public place. If you do not want everything about you known or want any level of privacy you have to put a little effort in to protecting your privacy.

OMG! "You've Got Mail" - starring Radagast Brown and The Last Druid! Would that be as bad as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump?

So it is ok on a baseball forum to research individuals to find out the most embarrassing details because they are available on the internet and post them on a forum to make a point, yet it is wrong to post another's actual team in a league you are in --- because that is vengeance? Really you are saying this? I personally believe neither is appropriate here at all but that is just me, This forum is run like Alice in Wonderland.....

So it is ok on a baseball forum to research individuals to find out the most embarrassing details

It does not help the discussion to try and twist what people are saying. Why do people do that?

I am advising that if you do not want people to be able to search your past and find embarrassing details do not use your real name as your screen name. Trying to be helpful and give advice that will help Radagast going forward.

People can protect themselves when in an environment where they might be at risk. Would I say it is wrong to research a person's past and post it. YES. It is something I would never do and would discourage someone from doing. But if you make it possible for someone to do there is always going to be someone who will. Fact of life.

In similar fashion no matter how positive your post is or how helpful you are trying to be there will always be an idiot who will try and twist what you say. That is the nature of the internet. Should it be that way? No. But there will always be those who will do it as gkhd11a just demonstrated.
