Per an issue raised by one of the owners:

We will extend the supplemental draft beyond 4 rounds. There are several franchises that have large numbers of players exposed to the supplemental draft, ---these teams should not be penalized for that risk of losing so many players. as they will clearly lose some high value players, and should have the opportunity to be as competitive as possible.

I do not think this will take much more time beyond the initial 4 rounds, as many franchises will fall out of the draft at that point, due to either getting all the players that they want, or that there are no more players available to their franchise.

So after 4 rounds, if any franchise wishes to continue the supplemental draft, the draft will continue to which point all teams either cannot continue or do not wish to continue.

I knew Duffy played for the MIl Brewers in 01 and since my franchise says Indians, Braves, Brewers, I figured he was mine.

I will just have to add him to the growing list of players in the supp draft. Let's see how this all plays out.

I see Brouthers is Braves only, but am I able to take his DTW card or only his BSB card. I assume only BSB but checking. In other words, are the players who played for non-existent franchises only able to use the franchise card.

why are we running the supp draft AFTER the autodraft? what if the AD runs on a Thursday or Friday, then wait 48 hours to Start the supp draft. League will have already begun and we are still drafting the Supp draft.

can we just do the supp draft before the AD runs please? like right after the last team signs up.

As a St. Louis area native, I have to object to Tip O'Neill being classified with the Browns/Orioles franchise. O'Neill played for the team that is known today as the Cardinals. When he signed with the team in 1884 they called themselves the Brown Stockings, later shortening the name to Browns, and for a season or two referring to themselves as the Perfectos before finally settling on Cardinals. In 1902 -- 10 years after O'Neill had retired -- the Milwaukee Brewers relocated to St. Louis and adopted the old nickname the Cardinals had discarded -- the Browns. This is the team that eventually became the Orioles. So O'Neill doesn't have any connection at all to the Browns.

1) Per Pauls post---Hugh Duffy's Card for the Orioles is not desirable (and they could only use that card), --- so the Braves should have no problem getting him.

2) Paul---Great idea to run the supplemental draft before loading the teams and doing the auto-draft. Thats what we will do, thanks!!!

3) Tip O'Neill's card is for the 1887 St.Louis Browns. He played OF for them that year.
https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/STL/1887.shtml

which would seem to make him an Oriole.

Except, upon deeper investigation, --it appears that is not the Browns associated with the team that used the name later on.
the original St. Louis Browns later became the Cardinals-

from Wikipedia

James Edward "Tip" O'Neill (May 25, 1858 – December 31, 1915) was a Canadian professional baseball player from approximately 1875 to 1892. He began playing organized baseball in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada, and later played ten seasons in Major League Baseball, principally as a left fielder, but also as a pitcher, for four major league clubs.

While playing with the St. Louis Browns (later renamed the Cardinals) from 1884 to 1889

So Tip is available for the autodraft for the Cardinals. I stand corrected.

Corrected updated list

Here is the list of Pre-1900 and turn of the century Players and as to which team can claim them:

The following players can be selected in the auto-draft
Dan Brouthers: Braves.
Hugh Jennings: Dodgers.
Tip O'Neill: Cardinals.
Roger Conner: New York Giants.
Pete Browning: Pirates.
Joe Kelly: Orioles
Jake Stenzel: Pirates
Willie Keeler: Orioles
Cap Anson: Cubs
Chief Zimmer: Indians
Bill Sweeney: Braves
Jesse Burkett: Cardinals
Jocko Milligan: A's
Ginger Beaumont: Pirates

The following players, as they have cards for 2 franchises, can only be claimed in the supplemental draft.
Hugh Duffy: Orioles and Braves.
King Kelly: Braves and White Sox.
Billy Hamilton: Braves and Phillies.

Once again, please remember you can only use the season cards for your franchise. For example--if the Orioles drafted Hugh Duffy, they could only use the 1901 card, the Braves could only use the 1894 card....

I believe King Kelly played for the Chicago White Stockings which later became the Chicago Cubs. Which is why he appears on the Chicago Cubs drop down menu.

Therefore, he should be available to the Braves and Cubs (not the White Sox). At least, that is how I have seen it handled in prior leagues.
