I see what you did there... kind of a paradoxical statement.

Well, I guess not. It COULD in theory be true that without hyperbole people die at such and such rate so that statement--even though it is in fact hyperbole--isn't inherently contradictory.

Well, that is only because you are 10 times more brilliant than Einstein, and at least twice the SOM player.

OK I will stop now... heh

BTW--yes, Backfire is most certainly an alt. Played ATG III a little bit, a few in IV, then didn't play again until ATG9.
7 champs of 43 teams with a playoff rate near 50% for a newbie just looking to "learn the rules."
However was back on the boards raising a ruckus during ATG8 and had some spinups with notables.

There is no doubt. I have at least one likely person based on the chosen topics of interest and the timing years ago.
Not that it matters but this entire narrative trope of I'm just a dumb new guy looking for an explanation yadda yadda is a total non sequitur. It is also ridiculously banal for an older man to do it.

I have also assumed that the blocking the plate rule was in effect in ATG, however I also assumed it was such a rare event that it really shouldn't impact card pricing. I see in the thread above were Max cited Marc's computed impacts and those are not immaterial, so it's something I will have to evaluate and possibly include in future pricing iterations.
Well if Marc's more recent statements that the setting is not operative were correct, you were right to ignore it in the first place. Who among us is to say?

The impact in the Windows game is large, the largest facet of catcher defense other than arm strength IIRC. Each plate-blocking chance is as consequential as a solo home run after all.
