This sounds very creative, so I'll take an era.

I assume that since many players will overlap eras, that the draft will be first-come, first-serve, so that we'll be competing for players based on our draft rankings. Another option is that perhaps players could be assigned in advance, for example having the player's highest salary determine his era.
