fraank123,

If the light hasn't gone on yet, it probably isn't going to ever go on.

I think it went down like this...

When Bernie came aboard, he was tired of dealing with most of us.
He probably labeled a lot of guys as "loud mouths" or "trouble makers" or even "boat rockers".

So rather than deal with it, they are just hoping this group leaves and new blood comes in.

I might very well be totally off base on this, but it sure seems like the operating procedure.

geekor,
I have a friend that I went to college with, that works @ Blizzard.

I've been to their place in Irvine. It's sick.
I've taken the tour twice with her and a few friends.

They are always looking to make their game better.
They love their customer base and cherish each and every comment.

a comparable for us to consider

If you owned a successful pizza joint and made very good money selling pizza and subs, why would you listen to the young kid telling you to add panini's and veggie items to your menu. Non diet coke type drinks too!!! What are you crazy?
I'm making a killing doin just what I'm doin...

Now add to the equation, you don't show up to the pizza joint very often because you hired someone to run it for you, plus you are off chasing other adventures.

You wouldn't have your finger on the pulse of the very business that is making money for you.

This is what we have going on here at SOM ATG 7 land.

I remember my second live draft, when I had time to notice there was a chat window and Salt and Petro/Druid were having a lengthy conversation. I'm thinking...WTF, I'm barely getting pick in 60 secs, and you guys are discussing picks, Nev, local weather...jeeze. :o

Might I inquire how often are your posts deleted. It is (but perhaps should not be) surprising to me that SOM would be reading all these posts and the response is deletion rather than commentary.

Shouldn't be surprised. Strat "communicates" three ways. By posting pronouncements (announcements) via locked threads so no community feedback is possible.

Second, they delete entire threads if they don't like one post, rarely do they even bother deleting the single offending post.

Third, they send out automated warning letters to those who have offended against their forum policies.

The message I get is, no community feedback wanted and any customers who express dissatisfaction are, likewise, not wanted.

The business model seems to be a combination of the toxic old saw "my way or the highway" coupled with an Orwellian intolerance for dissent.

And in Orwellian doublespeak this somehow equates to "growing the game."
