We could add Brannu as the 12th manager and start the draft. Brannu would be unable to pick until Sunday per his prior post. How about if we don't fill tonight we add him and establish our draft order tomorrow? We will need two randomizers, one for our franchise picks and the other for our two additional keepers.

Sounds good to me if it's good for everyone else.

Let's give it until noon eastern/9am pacific Saturday to fill. If not, we'll proceed with the other owner that said he would be available to draft starting on Sunday. I think we can probably fill it before then, and if not we can proceed with Plan B.

Franchises & Ballparks

PostSat Nov 09, 2013 9:11 am

1. Is there an easy way to determine which teams belong to which "franchises"? For example, Milwaukee Braves, Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Braves, Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox - which are grouped together for franchise purposes?

2. Does anyone have a list of which ballparks belong to which franchises - some are obvious, but some are not (at least to me).

3. Weekends are alot more iffy as far as computer access due to sports/family obligations compared to weekdays. Today for instance, I will be without access from 1pm to 10pm. Tomorrow from 11am to 5pm. Just a heads up.

Look at the player's card....if the year you select for the player has BRAVES then he is a BRAVE regardless of the city, you must then draft a BRAVES stadium from ANY era, ANY city.....(Redsox and Braves are NOT same franchise, even though the same city....it's all about the team name.....A BRAVE is a BRAVE....a DODGER is a DODGER....Brooklyn or LA....etc............if the first player selected is a Dodger then the second MUST also be a Dodger.........you can sort players by franchise and era, i.e. pull up all of the deadball braves, pre WW2 braves, post WW2 braves, etc. that's the only way I can think of to sort the players by franchise.....since we're ONLY talking about 2 players from the same franchise it shouldn't be too difficult to link 1 pitcher & 1 hitter to the same franchise...I would hope anyways.

In terms of internet access...the draft order is up at the League chat......here is the LINK....

I want to wait to see if we can't get a 12th to join before NOON eastern today....if not then then we'll go with Brannu and proceed with the draft. I draft right after you in the first round, so if you wanted to leave me list of 5 or so picks for your first pick, I'd be happy to post your pick which would come up possibly later in the afternoon/evening and then you could check back in tomorrow and check on the status.

I think I'd rather try to pick without leaving a list of proxies. I am traveling 1.5 hours to and from a hockey game for a kids team I coach. That game starts at 3:30. After I get home I then travel another 1/2 hour to and from my own game at 8pm. If you feel stressed and it comes to my turn - feel free to call my cell @ 847-373-8132 and I can try to make my pick with some assistance from you, but bear in mind the above schedule. Otherwise, I'll get to it later this evening. Thanks for your understanding.

I go to Wikipedia and read about the franchise on the player you want. It will tell you what stadiums they used as well as the history of the team as far as locations ie Philadelphia to Kansas City to Oakland.
