How can you include Japanese stars and omit the legendary Randy Bass?

I just heard back from Strat.

Expect a Tom Selleck card (Mr. Baseball) and a Bernie Mac (Mr. 3000) card with ATG 8...

While we're at it adding cards, as a sophomore in H/S I once struck out Shawon Dunston.

I deserve a card as at least a R1, possibly R2...

Had new cards been added on a monthly basis from the onset of Strat taking over, I'm sure there would be less of an uproar over these additions.

In the immortal words of the late John Belushi... BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Again I ask... Why have any polls on who to add? Why vote on which players should be in? Why post in favor of a certain card being added?

With me, it's not who gets added so much as them (Strat) once again, not listening to their customer base and doing what THEY want to do.

Could someone give me some honest arguments about why adding these players is so awful?

All of the following groups represent statistically skewed groups, but they are in the game already
A. Pre 1901 players (The game was way different- side arm pitchers, walks counted as hits, questionable data)
B. Dead ball guys (ball tampering was legal, the fields and fans were atrocious- league ERA's around 2.50)
C. 1920's-30 (League batting averages around .300)
D. Negro leaguers (data and level of competition is questionable)
E. 1960's (league ERA's around 3.00)
F. Steroid guys; insane home run totals

IMO I think all these players stats should be adjusted (assuming that they aren't)

Obviously, there are many Cuban and Japanese ball players who can hang with the ATGreats.

So, what's the argument? Is it because the Cuban records are sketchy?
True they are.
The level of competition sucked?
Maybe.
The Japanese records are great.

So I'm guessing that the level of competition is what's in question. But this argument is true for the Negro Leagues, and Pre 1900 players, and steroid players (and I'd argue also true for the pre 1910 players as well.).

Even if that is true, and it probably is, their great players are still great.

Let 'em play.

"The middle years (1976-1998) saw 2 major changes to the way baseball was played in Cuba. The DH was introduced across the league, and the batters switched from wood to aluminum bats."

The above is taken from the description of the Cuban players. They are talking about stats from a league that used aluminum bats???? For Real?

What's more they all wore green fatigues, smoked big cigars, and drove 1950s Chevy Bel-Airs and Biscaynes to the ball park each day!!!! :o

Because I want to play with the All-Time Greats of Major League Baseball. I play this game for the history of it. The history of Major League baseball.

How would the 20xx game managers feel if Strat announced that the 2013 cards would now include cards from Japan and Cuba and the dude off the Million Dollar Arm movie? They would be in open revolt.

I don't mind the new cards.I'm looking forward to the new Oh card. When alstar teams from Mlb went to Japan to play Oh dominated the Mlb pitching. The early Ichiro years would be great. Matsui's card would be great. And the new Kuroda card would be great. He dominated in Japan and the way he's pitching here right now shows why the Yankees went after him.As far as the Cuban players goes,Look at the new star players from there are playing very well in the majors.I saw 2 of the championships. The world championship and the intercontinental championships.Edmonton were I live hosted both of these.I saw all the games and Cuba dominated at both of these games. The player that stands out the most was Linares.A 3rd baseman who hit over 400 in both tournaments and led in homers too. There were many others from Cuba as well.I feel Strat is trying to bring the younger customer to the site.the majority of the people playing here sre 50 and older We need some new young blood. And if they feel bringing in these new sets of cards will help I'm all for it
