Well, Radagast, the name of this forum is All-time Greats, so, you've posted in the right place :D

We could all publish our own manager ratings by listing won-loss record and season result and whatever else is agreed upon. When I go to All Your Teams tab it shows recently completed teams and archived teams, so, there you go. Oh, I, see recently completed teams have '?' instead of real numbers, so, we'd have to come up with those numbers ourselves.

Hi Guys,
Near the start of this thread, I suggested that SOM not worry about porting our manager rating info based on the old site and just give us new ratings based on the new site. This ought to be pretty easy for them to do. Based on that idea, on December 18 I sent the online support folks an email with the following suggestion:
Hi SOM,

A recent thread on the ATG discussion board indicates that there is strong interest in seeing a return of the Manager Ratings that used to appear on the old Sporting News website. Manager ratings were a very popular and useful feature. I think they also provided a real spur to managers to buy new teams, since the ratings brought out our innate competitiveness.

When our Sporting News site teams were imported, SOM posted a note that reads as follows:

NOTE: We've finished a basic import of your old teams from the 1969, and 2001-2005 season sets. Your teams' stat totals, W/L records, league standings, rosters and player stat totals are accounted for. We'll be proceeding to import the rest of the older sets (2006) to complete our records, after which we'll be able to restore our Manager Rating system. Thank you for your patience while we work through this extremely intricate process.

This was perhaps two years ago. SOM players have indeed been patient, but as yet we still don’t have manager ratings. My guess is that this “extremely intricate process” has proved perhaps too difficult or time consuming to carry out. In the meantime, when we read that note, managers are conscious of an unfulfilled promise.

I would like to make a simple suggestion that would make it possible to give us manager ratings at an early date.

The suggestion is simply this: Don’t worry about porting in manager ratings from the old site. Simply start manager ratings afresh based on performance on the current site. You can explain to owners that the port proved too difficult, but you want to get us manager ratings now.

I think this approach would be understood and appreciated. We’ve now had roughly two years and a half years at the new site. That span of time provides enough teams and leagues to provide a substantial and meaningful basis for manager ratings, even if the ratings only cover the new site.

Many thanks for considering this suggestion.

The new method of nominating and electing fresh cards for the ATG set has been popular and much appreciated. I believe that restoring manager ratings will provide another means to significantly improve customer satisfaction and encourage players to create new teams.
All the best, Outta Leftfield

This message has yet to receive a reply, but I think it contains a valid suggestion and one that would be easy to carry out. If you like the idea, perhaps you could send SOM's online support a similar message. Feel free to simply copy and paste my message—or part of it— if that would be easier for you. In union there is strength, and if SOM finds itself bombarded by an easy to carry out demand for manager ratings, they might just decide to respond.
