45 million Dollar league - REPLACEMENT MANAGER NEEDED

If the autodraft has to be below 45 mil than I will have to make changes - I anticipated a 45 mil opening day roster when I set my draft.

I interpreted the 15 million you can't touch at any time to mean as I picked my Autodraft card, I left 15m in the bank, only autodrafting a 45m roster.

Correct.
That's how I've done this draft and a previous 45M league.
Since it is not possible to create a 45M league cap in ATG we do it ourselves.

Rules :45 million, no DH, 5/10/20, waivers. Roster value MUST ALWAYS remain at or below 45 million. In other words you must always have a reserve of 15 million dollars which you CAN NOT touch.

I don't see a problem with drafting all 60 mil and getting it down to 45 prior to the start of the season, I drafted a 45m squad but as long as your down to 45 when the season starts what the difference . Bill

With the extra $15M one could draft their second or third choice at several positions and possibly shut someone else out for that/those players.
I know I would have drafted differently if I could have used the extra $15M.

Yes, this is the issue I'm referring to. With that extra 15m I could draft 5 more 2b, for example, and get all the good ones for this cap. We should either ALL Autodraft 60m, or we ALL Autodraft 45m.

good point, like I said I drafted as you did [ 45m ] but at this point I just want to see this league filled and rolling , in the end we will all have a 45m roster to play with and that's all that matters. Bill

I kind of split the difference on the $45 or $60. basically I made my 24 man roster at $45 m. And the mandatory 25 th guy I listed at $500k with the intention of dropping him when the draft is run.

The first was the most recent and it had a 45m cap on roster value, with 15m to use during the season for FA pickups as long as roster value was below 45m.

The second seems to be more precisely what Ed is calling for here with a strict cap of 45m, leaving 15m in the bank at all times. It would seem logical to me therefore that all draft cards should be filled out as if that extra 15m does not exist.

It seems we have some differing interpretations of how to proceed, and definitely need Ed to weigh in on this.

Maxie Minoso is right. You should draft at 45 million and have 15 million in the bank BEFORE the auto draft. Otherwise you could draft high priced players (if you were drafting as if it were a 60M team) and lock us out (who are drafting a 45M team) of those player's cheaper cards. Maxie is right that you must only draft as if you only have 45 million dollars. That 15 million left over is DEAD TO YOU. YOU CAN'T EVER TOUCH IT. I don't know why SOM can't let us choose whatever cap we want but that's another discussion.
