Insulting an 'ism' is similar to insulting a religion which many people do. They fail to recognize that its about a persons or group of people's interpretation/actions about the doctrine- and mostly not about the doctrine itself.

SO...when a person says 'PINKO COMMIE' with the disdain I aluded to earlier, what are they insulting? True communist way of life which doesnt really exist anywhere except in books about Utopian societies or are they insulting a percieved threat on unchecked capatlism which was acted upon by McCarthy and Roy Cohn?

wouldnt it be nice if you stopped trying to 'score points' when I write stuff and actually engage in a real conversation, or don't...theres lots Id like to learn, but I dont think it goes both ways.

You are so right. McCarthy was certainly an icon among the great thinkers of western civilization; after all you posted it at least twice. I failed to engage in real conversation as I didn't mention the same inane person twice. Salty 1+ and me nothing. Pure communism and pure capitalism do not exist anywhere--that is agreed. Has nothing to do with holding disdain for a view on how to live life.

I thought this was a board dealing with a baseball simulation. My mistake.
