Yes. If Hal is in round 1, and your round one player is gone, you get skipped and do not get a replacement until the entire draft has run. You do not get your round 2 selection in its place.

If your player has already been drafted, then you receive the next undrafted highest salaried player at that position (primary position only).

So if no one has listed Williams anywhere on their card you will get him. If only one other person listed Williams anywhere then you keep dropping until there is an undrafted LF.

In the earlier example, I received Joe Morgan at 24 because no one else had him on their draft card. If someone else had Hornsby listed 2nd and did not get him, then they would fall to the next undrafted 2B.

In the same example, I missed Thomas at #2 and received Giambi. If someone else had listed Giambi anywhere I would have fallen farther down 1B list (likely to Clark, my consolation prize for Mcgwire miss at #4). If I had listed the 6.7 Thomas at #2 and missed I would have likely received Eddie Murray at 6.69.

I am the one who reponded to Nev's trade offer with the now infamous "overpriced" comment.I will elaborate on that
situation. The first offer was Perry, Speaker,Duffy,Heilmann for C.Mays,Foxx, Kasko, T.Williams. Nev asked "Do you
like this offer". I responded by rejecting it without comment as is my habit. His 2nd offer was Perry,Hartnett,Speaker,
Duffy, Heilmann for C.Mays, I.Rodriguez,Foxx, T.Williams and Torriente.He asked"let me know".
I responded "- OK-I willmake my position clear,than.I regard this trade as a terrible one for me.I am not trying to be
offensive but there is no point in wasting time going in this direction. Foxx is the heart of my team , along with Hornsby.
Williams is an important experiment.Speaker, Duffy and Heilmann I regard as significantly overpriced.Hartnett is nice.

I have played about 150 $200m teams, thru the years, trying various things. I have 13 teams playing now . The oldest 6 teams , like this one, play in Wrigley 59 and
so far have a .545 winning percentage.OBP, pitching,and defense all play a role but home run power is by far the
most important factor.The price of Speaker , Duffy, maybe even Heilmann may be relevant in a lower cap but not in
$200m, as far as I am concerned.

I'm going to post the 2 drafts I've participated in at this cap in hopes of getting a little feedback. As you can see they are both epic failures. I really expected better results with the second one which I put a lot more thought into, and it turned out worse. The universe keeps thinking up more elaborate ways to remind me that I'm an idiot.

One approach I like to take with my drafts follows: I will apply it to your drafts.

Analyzing Team #1
I list all my picks in order in a spreadsheet column. Then I have 2 colums to the side. Column 1 is labeled got pick. Column 2 is labeled good pick. For each player I get a 1 is entered in the got pick column and the good pick column.
On players I missed I assign a 0 to got pick. I then look at the consolation prize I got. How good is that guy? If he is a useable player that I can gain playoff level contribution from I put a 1 in the good pick column. If it is a player I do not like, does not fit park and team mix then I label that with 0 to denote bad pick. These are most likely the guys I will drop in waivers. Consolation players who are good I usually advertise to the league as available. Though that is not set in stone. Sometimes a player is shopped around because I drafted 2 thinking I would not get both but did. I then advertise one or both as available.

Now let's apply my system to your drafts.

I then total the columns to compare how I fared compared to previous drafts.
For the lines rated 0-0 consider that a wasted pick. With that data I adjust for future teams.
For example 24 asked for Musial and got Magee. If Magee ends up being someone you have to cut thent that qualifies as a wasted pick. On future cards I would either move Musial up higher on my draft card to increase odds of getting him. Or if leaving at 24 as a flier might manipulate my money so I can slot the expensive Musial and have better chance of a useful consolation pick.

In general my thinking is if I am drafting cheap version of a card I list the card high enough to have excellent chance of getting him, or at least better than 50/50
Players in the bottom 5-10 slots I like to put my cheap placeholder or potential platoon men. If I take a late round flyer on a really good card I draft the best card he has so if miss on the pick my consolation will be a better and possibly more useable card. If I take a flyer on a really cheap version of a card knowing my consolation will be useless I try to put that cheap flyer higher on my draft card to maximize chances of success.

Focusing on last draft ..
Mauer is too high at 2 .. really a 3 or 4
Brett at 3 is OK .. he is really a 2 or 3
Ruth /Bonds are #1 picks .. if you are listing 4 and 5 might as well list at 14 and 15 .. odds are about the same. Gehrig is top 3.
Everyone 11 and below are all popular top five or top ten picks with exception of Jones and Bender. Not surprising to see so many misses (bad luck is also a factor, or more so lack of good luck).

Bottom line IMHO is to be more realistic with your top 10 or 15 and take chances below that .. Also, plan your entire list .. if you have Hornsby at 1 and H.Wagner at 2 then don't draft anymore SS or 2B ..
If you list Maddux at 6 make sure it is his highest priced card, so if you miss you will get a decent replacement.
No reason to pick Foster at 4.28 .. use his 2.28 card because if you miss the replacement is Wally Moon.

Bold is what I didn't get, and the only real disappointment is Johnson and Mossi and Hodges, BUT they are replaceable.

One can debate the quality of the roster all day long if they wish, however one cannot debate morpheus' advice and rankings for the purpose of obtaining the team you draft.

It also helps when nev decides to build a team that doesn't require some of the players you want/need.

IMO definitely usable guys for my team, Howard is redundant for me (wanted Hodges) so I'll have to find a RH bat that cooks LHP. Not a bad single problem to have to be honest.

As far as if they're trade-able, well they're no Ron Santo, Pop Lloyd or Tim Salmon that's for sure.
