thanks BD...THAT'S what Im talkin' about. the top list is much more random and has guys picking in front of and behind other managers throughout, and spreads high and low draft order per team nicely.

I don't think it's very random at all. Managers are pickin behind the same managers 11 times. 12 picks behind 1 eleven times. 3 picks behind 9 eleven times. 4 picks behind 8 eleven times. Etc.

I think BD's alternative set...or the set that bcp posted are more random.

Oh! I thought that the draft orders were the rows with season 1 being the top row, season 2 being the 2nd row, etc. I get it now.

OK, here's how the draft order chart works. For season 1, we've all been assigned a draft position 1-12, which is represented by the first (vertical) column on the left. Each team maintains it's vertical (not numerical) position on the chart moving in the same horizontal row from left to right in each subsequent season. So, for example, in motherscratcher's case, in season 1 he picks 9th, season 2 3rd, season 3 10th, etc, etc.

Now that you know how to read the draft charts, look at both of them again. I think it's pretty clear that MEAT chose the more random chart, as there are far fewer cases of picking directly behind the same person than the alternative draft chart.

MSer, experts have long said that asking questions is a sign of intelligence, so it's good that you asked for clarification, as it's very important for everyone to be on the same page and to have the same understanding as to how this works.

MSer, as you know, we were in modmark46's 12 season $140 mil dream league (along with current league member bontomn) using ATG6 for the duration of the league that ended several months ago. That league had us picking behind the same person all 12 seasons and had a very simple pick rotation where each team picked 1 pick lower in each subsequent season until it hit the 12th pick and then it would move to the top pick, again moving down one pick each season thereafter. The pick order in this league is superior for a couple of reasons: 1. Teams are not picking behind the same team every season; 2. Since there is a jumbled pick progression (and no linear pick progression), It minimizes the risk of someone using their top picks and then getting out of the league with only lower picks left, making it hard to find a replacement.
