Are we talking about the most at total at bats for a team (total years) or the most at bats per season for a team, to determine which franchise gets the player??

Pirate - my intent was most total at bats for a player with a given team over the course of his career. In some cases, that player is not carded for that team (Piazza, Fisk, Schilling being examples) and therefore belong to the 2nd-most in each case. If the franchise for which a player played most is not selected, he is automatically a FA (e.g. If no one takes the Mariners, then Griffey is a FA. Hope this is what you wanted to know but let me know if not.

Well, I haven't heard from anyone who wants to trade up to 7 and I don't want to hold up the draft, so I'll take the Reds.

I' remain willing to consider trading the Reds to pick lower, but I really want to pick last and then only if one of the teams I want is left.

1) treyomo - Red Sox
2) royal_boston - Royals
3) trowell1817 - Giants
4) Brent65 - Dodgers
5) freebase - Cardinals
6) gator39 - Blue Jays
7) BDWard - Reds
8) mrharryc (Team Name)
9) 23pirate (Team Name)
10) Riggs10 (Team Name)
11) jlt53 (Team Name)
12) misterg (Team Name)

Also, a question for the Commish: I know that franchise players cannot be traded (unless it was a trade of players carded to the two franchises involved in the trade), as it would defeat the purpose of having a franchise league. How about the 5 free agent pickups? Can such free agent pickups be traded for each other?

Votes so far re: the cap

8 in favor of raising the cap
1 who could go either way
1 leaning towards keeping it as it, but isn't opposed to changing it
1 who would prefer to keep it as it is, but does not want to rock the boat
1 awaiting reply

We have at least a 2/3 majority so the motion passes (I didn't write a constitution, but 2/3+ seems good to me) and we will proceed forward with the higher cap. For those of you who haven't drafted your team yet - please take note: cap is now $120 million

As with other things, I didn't address trades, but unless anyone sees a compelling reason why we shouldn't allow FA's to be traded, I'm of the opinion that we should allow this.

23 Pirate takes the A's!?!? I guess team loyalty doesn't get you very far in Strat. ;)

Ha - team loyalty and Strat were never a "thing"

By the way, Riggs10 will be ecstatic - he was hoping his Phils would be available, and now they are. Wait, what did I just say about loyalty?
