50, started playing the board game in 1980, i think our first league draft was 1984, my first two picks were gwynn and boggs. "roll da bones" was the call, after the question " who ya pitching", before the day of the 20 sided dice, when we used playing cards for the 1-20 cuts

remember seeing the white sox play the twins, double header in May, 1973, bat day,yes they gave away regulation bats that day ( my friend Don Thomas lost mine, but he did buy me a replacement). Attendance was 55,555, largest crowd at old Commiskey Park, bill Melton hit a grand slam and i got Terry Forster and Goose Gossage autographs. don't have the autographs but I have the memories

54.69 Average Age

FUDU and Hack notwithstanding, and deducing Musial6 to be 61, the average of 32 respondents stands at just under 55 years of age. Only 3 are under 30 (if we can allow Adrian to be counted). 8-)
Am I the only one born in the year that the Braves took out the Yankees?

FTR I'm 41.

age 58
First game July 31,1968
Twins go up 8-1 after 4 behind Kaat but give up 6 in the 9th and lose 12-8. Wilbur Wood the winner in relief, Hoyt Wilhelm finishes the game, Al Worthington victimized in the 9th
Next game June 11,1969
Joe Lahoud hits 3 home runs, all to right, Boston beats the Twins 13-5, again at the old Metropolitan Stadium. I would bet Lahoud's best career game.

55. Played the board game as a kid from 70-75. First game was in 68 at Busch II, Ray Washburn beat the Phillies. Once saw Marichal pitch 13 innings allowing 1 run against the Cards. Carlton pitched 9, also allowing 1 in the same game. That was in 1970. Saw George Brett get first RBI in 1974 against the Yankees. Grew up half-way between St. Louis and Kansas City.

Get my kicks on Route 66 -- for another couple of weeks --- then I'll have to figure another way to tell people how old I am.

First game: http://herm4444.blogspot.com/2012/07/v- ... tvmlo.html

Unique game: I was at the Stadium for Reggie's 3 HR night in the '77 WS.

Helping the average age thingy......upwards that is. Medicare kicked in a few months back. 65 yrs young, and I do mean young. Feel as good as I ever have.

Baseball memories include seeing Yogi hit two dingers in a spring training game back in the 50's. Just not sure what year.

Seeing my idol, Ted Williams at Tiger Stadium, again in the 50's, do what he seemed to do routinely.

Seeing Joe Carter hit World Series winning HR in Toronto 1993. "Touch em all Joe, you'll never hit a bigger home run in your life""

52 yrs old; friend of work introduced me to SOM online 2 years ago and 3 of us frequently play in leagues together. Often have lunch and discuss our teams, league, and the injustice that is HAL.

Had a Strat board game in 1960's, amongst other games (Coleco too? can't remember).

First game was 1969 at Wrigley, Giants vs Cubs (before the Cubs tanked) -- I don't remember the score, but stared in awe at Willie Mays, McCovey, Banks, Santo, Billy Williams, et al. After the game, with my uncle, we stood outside the ballpark and watched the Cub players come out a side door and run to their cars that were parked nearby.

Later, played in little league teams with Ronny Santo, Jr -- so, yeah, Ron Santo came to MY baseball games! :D

62. About to become a grandfather for the second time.

Speaking of '62, I have the good fortune of having been at the FIRST home win the NY Mets ever had (also their second win ever).

First played dice Strat in 1964 with the 1963 cards. Olde Skool.

Truly? It keeps me young.
