I'm at a limit for concurrent teams or i would have loved this, but can share an experience from a previous No-D league. There was no restrictions on pitchers at all.
No player with a 1 or 2 range rating anywhere on the card was eligible. No HAL sub problems there.
No player with a minus or 0 arm rating was eligible at any OF position or catcher.

The cap was lower if I remember correctly. Everyone was able to have an opening day roster under the rules.
No one was happy with their team D, which was the point to begin with.

I'll try to dig up a link and get back to you guys.

Thanks, and good luck.

That was easier than I thought it would be, hope this helps get the league off the ground.

ISSUE #1 - MUSIAL RULE - Musual under NO circumstances can be eligible since he is a "2" in LF and RF and "3" in CF.

Issue #2, I can have a couple of +1 arms on the bench to do defensive subs for my +3 arms in latter innings?

Issue 1 is solved by simply stating, all players must be 3's or 4's, so you can still use Musial '56
Issue 2 is solved by sticking with the rule that all arms be +1 or worse

I just ran through the LFers. I started at the top price and stopped at 2 million.
There were 58 outfielders who met that requirement, and that wasn't counting guys like Greenberg and Suttles.

The league was advertised as no "D", so yeah, you may have to use Bunk Congalton in CF.

I just went thru the RFs to see who met these two criteria (3's and 4's only and +1 or worse) and found 51 who are more than $2M. That's pretty slim pickings. So I think the only thing we can do is open it up to 0 arms in the OF. All OFs can have 0 arms or worse. Can we still have catchers with +1 arms?

Here's the updated rules. Let's see who's in.
$120M league with DH
4 SPs must all be $8M or greater. If 5 Man rotation than 3 SPs must be greater than $8M and remaining SP's in rotation must be greater than $5m.
All OF must have range of 3 or 4 only. No one with a 1 or 2 on their card is legal.
Defensive arm of all OF (starting and bench) must be 0 or worse
Defensive range of 4 starting IFs and C must total 17 or greater <- Just to keep it interesting
Catcher's arm must be +1 or worse
No backup player may have a 1 or 2 range at any position on their card.

Much cleaned up rules there. i like the 3's and worse in the OF. Anything different just felt weird. I'll play with the infield though Nomad is totally right to say rules need to be CRYSTAl as within no time rules will be challenged and with platoons, injuries and such a big cap, its sure to come up. How would platoons work with the 17 range rule? Lesser part of the platoon cannot be a 1 or 2? Has to be same as other 1/2?

How about if you have a platoon with 2 different defensive ranges, you count the better toward your total of 17. This should be pretty easy to monitor.

I like the way you work! Moreso now! I kid, I'm game. Thanks uvm, Ima making a team now that things are relatively ironed out? ---Chorus of "WAIT"?

Should be fun chaos. Any guesses on league ERA?

Honestly though, the non(*) pitcher rules seem a little tough. Some of the best guys are a little under 5 and those staffs out to be able to be built differently and have some platooning themselves.

My guess - either very low due to bad defense and many errors or very high just because of bad defense

As far as the non* SP, my original hope was to keep as much money in the SP as possible forcing people to find that $4-$5M bad fielding, but good hitting player that may not get chosen very often. I think the rules helps limit the number of elite hitters, as I was hoping.

I have a team "ready" but again, I think we will all be fighting for the same players. Someone is going to be pissed when they don't have anything competitive. I've PM'ed bkeat23 offering my spot to him if he is interested. Otherwise, I'll play it as promised.

Thanks Moose, but I'm about to go over my limit on active teams, where I stop enjoying reading the box scores.

Good luck to you and the rest of this league.
