Wild and crazy theme ideas

Haven't seen any really wild, wacky theme ideas recently, and I'm always one to experiment and try something different, so I'll throw some crazy theme ideas and see if any stick.

1) 200M pure frenzy: Every manager is required to draft a roster of entirely .50 players. A frenzy time is scheduled, and then, WHAM!

2) Musical rosters: 200M league, max salary $150M at all times during first two weeks, including autodraft. After 42 games, we have a two round snake draft. Worst team gets 1st pick of 1st round, last round of 2nd round etc. Each team drafts one pitching staff and one group of hitters from the existing teams in any order. Managers can select their own roster if available at their selection. New salary cap for each team based on salaries received in trade. Entire rosters are traded and altered. After 84 games, another draft. And after 126, a 3rd draft. Would require a ton of work and active managers, but that could get wild.

3) Mediocrity at its finest: $100M roster. All players, including RPs, must be between $3-5M.

4) Reversal of fortunes: Only Dunn and Minute Maid allowed. Managers in Minute Maid must select all lefties, managers in Dunn must select all righties. No preassigned stadiums, so you don't know what stadium your division mates will be in.

5) Attention Walmart shoppers!: 60M league, no player above $3M allowed

Any thoughts / interest?

My thoughts:

1) $200 million with only .50 mil players drafable, followed by frenzy: Forget it! Living on the West Coast with uncertain hours of availability, I'd never commit to that.

2) Musical rosters: Sounds interesting. I'd give it a try.

3) Mediocrity $100 mil: I'd probably pass.

4) Reversal of fortunes: Sounds great!

5) $60 mil cap: No way. I don't particularly like even $80 mil.

#1 wouldn't work, at least not with $0.50M players. There is an SOM-imposed minimum team salary requirement.

#4 or #5 might appeal to me. Opposite of bontomn, I despise the high salary cap leagues.

How about traditional AL vs NL?

2 teams from each division can draft only AL players and 2 can only draft NL players.

Or the same theme, only using Pre and post war players.

As simple as it sounds, I don't ever remember seeing a league like that.

I think your Minute Maid vs Dunn idea sounds pretty good. I'd be worried that too many would pick the same park, though. I'd have signups, 6 of each, 2 per division. It would be cool to have it as a surprise, but what if 10 managers pick Dunn?

I like the 4th idea and would consider the 3rd; I generally prefer higher caps but I do like to mix it up and have a variety.

#2 is my favorite, I've tried a couple of times to do this - hard to generate enough interest though.

#1 Frenzy is not my cup of tea
#2 not for me
#3 and #5 I've done it or something extremely similar...
#4 does sound intriguing
