The New York Yankees have registered three sets of consecutive World Series Sweeps: 1927-1928, 1938-1939, 1998-1999.
What team swept a World Series, then was swept in the next season's Fall Classic?
What is the longest stretch the World Series has gone without a sweep?
The second-longest World Series streak of no sweeps encompassed one decade. Which decade was it?
What team has been swept the most times in World Series history?

I'm guessing the decade was the '60s.

Didn't the Koufax-Drysdale Dodgers get swept by the O's in the 60's? Must have been earlier than that, maybe the 40's?
As to who's been swept the most, probably the Yankees based on how many more times they've been there than anybody else. As a matter of fact, didn't they get swept by the Cards in the early 60's thanks to Mike Shannon?
As to the longest stretch, I remember a lot of very competitive series in the late 70's and 80's. Pirates-O's went 7, several good Yankees-Dodgers series, Herzog's Cards against the Wallbangers and Royals, and of course the Billy Buckner series. I wouldn't hazard a guess as to how many in a row, but this seems like the best bet to me.

rburgh is correct on the decade...1940-1949 held no sweeps....the Yankees bookended that decade with sweeps of the Reds and the Phillies, respectively
Yankees being swept is the most as well....1922 by the Giants, 1963 by the Dodgers, 1976 by the Reds
And yes, that 1976 Reds sweep of the Yankees set off the longest non-sweep period in mlb, until the A's swept the Giants in 1989..........12 seasons.....(the Reds ALMOST bookended that stretch, sweeping the A's in 1990)
