I could use some help...If you just need Ken Griffey Jr. as your CF (not 1B or RF) in a Lefty HR Park (I dont really have a backup CF)...which year should I use and why?

Ken Griffey Jr.
Yr Tm G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS BA OBP SLG OPS BAL PRICE
1993 SEA 156 582 113 180 38 3 45 109 96 91 17 9 .309 .408 .617 1.025 E 10.05M
1994 SEA 111 433 94 140 24 4 40 90 56 73 11 3 .323 .402 .674 1.076 1R 9.66M
1997 SEA 157 608 125 185 34 3 56 147 76 121 15 4 .304 .382 .646 1.028 4R 9.14M

I've never used the most expensive card but...

If you want pure power and there's guys in front of him to get on, use the 4R card. (4 or < LHSP's in division too)

If you need more OB and maybe a slightly better BA, use the 1R card.

I have had good results with the most expensive griffey card. For me, an added bonus is that he hits both LH and RH pitchers well and he doesnt have the 15 game injury risk of the 1R card.

Bunch of factors to consider including:
What is the % of RHSP he'll be facing?
What impact could missing 12 or so games be given your backup isn't so great?
What can you do with the savings, say, the '97 card would give you compared to the '93 card?

Below is my value rating based on actual stats 100M leagues in LHB extreme hitters parks. Value includes offense, defense, arm strength, and injury.
Griffey Jr., Ken (1993) 118.7 - 20511 AB .275/.346/.587
Griffey Jr., Ken (1994) 124.9 - 61434 AB .284/.338/.626
Griffey Jr., Ken (1997) 122.8 - 22260 AB .269/.326/.586

"(I dont really have a backup CF)"

with this statement in mind, the 9.14 Griffey won't get hurt, has a bunch of natural HR and is cheaper. :ugeek:

Thank you very much for the feedback. Though its a tough decision...I believe I am going to go with the most expensive Jr (who is E). 7 out of the 12 Starters in my division are LH Starters...so I will need a E Jr.

Thanks again

I've got the expensive Griffey at Forbes 57. He's hitting .252 OBP .328 22 doubles, 2 triples, 33 dingers , 88 rbi's.

He wasn't my 1st choice for CF but I figured he'd add some power to a smallball lineup. I was looking for a higher average and obp. In 132 games , he's played 121. 4e's. 11sb 4 cs.

All in all mediocre for me. I was expecting more.

Sounds like you should use Chet Lemon and his 7L 8-)
