What is the worst record you have ever had and still made the playoffs? If you remember, where did your record rank you compared to all other teams.
I have a team 55-59, currently in first place in my division. Almost every team in the other 2 divisions has a better record than my team. You gotta love this game...lol

if i remember correctly i made the playoffs with a 82-80 record once. not below .500 so it's probably not what you were looking for.

I had a team finish 80-82, then went on in the playoffs, losing Game 7 of the Finals 2-1 in extra innings

In one of Andy's theme leagues, I just got bounced in the semis. My team had a +180 and won 94 games. The team that beat me had a -8 and won 78 games. To Championship. No free credit. No soup for you.
I think I've gone up against 3 under 500 teams in the playoffs and have lost every time.

If it makes you feel better, bontomn's 78-84 Orioles that beat you just got swept in the Finals.
I'm guessing it doesnt make you feel better, though

Anyone who's played in a lot of leagues will tell you it happens occasionally - not a lot, but often enough that it's not a rare event, maybe 4-5 % of the time. I would assume there is a theoretical lower limit that can be mathematically proven by one of the stat whizzes here, and I'd hazard a guess that number is about 74 or 75 wins.

The 78-84 team mentioned above finished first in its division by 4 games. It lost to the wild card team in the finals--an 85-77 team that upset a 106-win team in the first round. Stuff happens...

Although maybe not the worst record to make play-offs,but my first strat championship team made it with an 80-82 record.
