Tony-

Theres a lot involved in the question- what Cap level are you playing?
you might want to provide a link to your team and then folks can chime in on what they think went wrong...

To post a link to your team, go to the Your League dropdown and click Stats. On the Stats page, click Team. Then click your team, then copy and post that url

what jumps out at me immediately is not enough lefty power for yankee 56' stadium- need a bunch more, and second immediate thing is Ozzie is not a good value at both that cap and stadium- he just doesnt hit enough to justify 7 mil on him imo- and while the def is good, there are cheaper options.
Back to power- you need at least a few good lefty power hitters there.

i would have to agree with the statement above. you have to have more LH power. also i would focus a little more on up the middle def (c,2b,ss,cf). i usually have at least 2 of those positions filled by 1e players and the other 2 by no less than 2e players.

Too much money spent on your bench. Here's a team of mine in Yankee 71 that made the playoffs with 87 wins an won its first playoff round. Note that I have 6 hitters and 2 pitchers with salaries under .75 million. Also note how few AB / IP they consumed. Pouring money into guys who aren't going to play is a sure recipe for losing.

Also note the difference in the cost of my bullpen vs. the cost of yours. I would turn Eck, Orosco, Reardon, and Hrabosky into 3 guys with a combined salary of about 3.75 million, and pick up a cheapo bench player with the 4th.

As far as my lineup goes, this was a 24-team league, so you can do better at almost every position than I did. And your season is under way, so you have roster move costs. Anyway, welcome back!
