I should know this, but I don't.

Looking at Eddie Collins for an upcoming team of mine.

1914: 152 games, INJ on 2/12
1919: 140 games, No INJ

I went to baseball reference and looked at the standings for all teams from 1910 on.
I counted the games played.
Teams have a different amount of games played. So there's no set # of games.

Why would they play less games in 1919?

Something called The Great War...now WWI

I took that into account.

But most teams didn't play the same # of games. There was no consistency year in and out.

The season was 154 games except for 1918 and 1919. Pretty sure the reason is the lack of night baseball so tied games were called due to darkness. Some teams wound up not finishing or replaying them.
