Kinda shocking to see the amount of newer card data in ATG7 tbh.
I mean E Aybar? really?
Kelly Johnson, he's not even an all star now, let alone belonging in ATG!
Seriously strat, WTF? This is supposed to be all time GREATS, not current nobody's.

I recall Bernie answering this awhile back.
Forget his answer though...
But I'm with ya. All Time Greats should mean All Time Greats.
Also if you include a truly ATG card(s), have their best season in there too.

Many of the additions of 200x cards are not what I would have done. I can see tossing in great seasons by almost certain to be future HOFers. But other than that overlap between 200x and ATG should be limited.
As to the examples you mention I had forgot they were even added to the set. Kind of like several of the new cards added for ATG7. Though I suppose one could argue cards like these are potentially useful in the lower caps where a 2 mil infielder with some pop could be useful.

I agree, My team was against Kerry Wood last night?

No kidding !! Rookie Phenom but was basically average after that year. Mookie Wilson should be added soon I guess..

Even if they added just the playoff teams, and award winners I think it'd be cool. Cory Snyder was a friend's favorite player; but instead of his ROY card, they have a terrible card for him . . . what's the point? Not every player in the set has to be a hall of famer, but a better representation would be nice.

It used to be that only retired players were added. Then they started adding some current players, Like Manny, who will eventually be ATG's anyways, it was ok. But then adding players from a year or 2 ago? Not even all-star players, let alone those who will never be an ATG?
There isn't some retired players we could add that could be 2 mil players? I just don't see why SOM would add those players, except the laziness factor of we have the card data in the system already

I do seem to remember we went through a period under TSN when Bernie could not get new card data from Strato and solicited our opinions on what cards we might want culled from the existing games such as 20xx, 1986, and the decade mystery games. I never understood why it was difficult to get new card data from Strato. Definitely do not understand why now that Strato is in complete control why we cannot get regular additions straight from the cdrom game.
They recently came out with new versions of several seasons. I do not understand why we cannot get our existing 1961 cards replaced with those from this new super advanced 1961 season.
