Huge postseason

Rogers Hornsby had a pretty good postseason: he hit .593, with 8 homers, 22 RBI and a 1.166 slugging percentage. http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/postseason/815732

He had 32 hits in 13 games -- and had at least 2 hits in the last 11 games of the postseason. In the Finals, his numbers were even better -- 18 for 25 (.720) with 5 homers, 16 RBI, and 8 walks, for an OBP of .788

He had 4 hits, 2 homers and 6 RBI off Pedro Martinez (his best card) in Game 3 of the Finals, and in game 7, he got on base 5 times, including a homer.

The semis were tied 2-2 - so in game 5, Hornsby went 5-for-5 with a triple, a homer, and 3 RBI.

Has anyone else seen similar numbers for a postseason?

This is why you dump him in a transaction deadline deal. Keeping him risks this kind of outlandish performance.

vsick is right, Lacy did a nice job for you especially considering the price. Whomever controls those dice sure did like you on this team. 8-)

Here's the kicker-- Lacy did it all as an injury sub in Games 6/7 of the finals. He had a homer in Game 6, and went 4 for 5 with another homer and a triple in game 7. Not a bad Plan B.

HAL liked my team so much that he had me drop two games in the finals to Frank Bertaina to keep things interesting...

Yeah, I can top that because when it comes to ATG tragedy, no one has had more than me.
Way back in ATG2, Freakin ED Bailey hit 8 homeruns against me in the finals.

Ed Bailey with 8?

Reminds me back in college when I tried to teach a friend strat. We held a 2 team draft and played a series. So all of baseball to choose from and he drafts Kurt Bevaquia. I probably did not spell that correctly but anyone old enough to know that also knows who I am talking about. I tried to be fair and helpful and explain that card was not very good but he didn't care because he liked the name. Then every game that darned card delivered a key hit that made the difference.

Gotta love it when a plan comes together.

You can thank Outta Leftfield for taking my semifinal to 7 games, meaning you only had to face Pedro and Slim Jones once each, instead of twice each. Factor in me losing Dickey, Reggie Jackson and Ventura for Game 7 at Penmar. So I think HAL might have hated me more than he loved you.

No argument here. You were on the verge of running out of hitters... extending it to seven games given the injury situation and the state of your rotation is an impressive accomplishment.
