max one batter

Why don't we have an option to have relievers face one batter only, or face lefties (or righties) only, like modern baseball? I don't see why a limit on that type of reliever couldn't be applied, maybe one or two per team.

I sure would like to see a lefty specialist used as a lefty specialist instead of as a batting tee for righty hitters.

I agree 99.9%, only reserving .1 because there will be a thread with a story about the strategy forcing HAL to bring in the nickel 5th starter at the end of the game.

My thinking is that if I get into extra innings, anything that results in a win is extra bonus luck as far as BP goes. Then again, I try to carry 5 RPs, and when it works, it's great, when it doesn't I take my lumps.

I don't mind HAL using the noodle arms in late extra innings games if my strategy has exhausted my arms.

I'm with ya PJ. I cringe when a game goes into extra innings and my cannon fodder comes in.

But don't mind when I go back and see my pen was used correctly. :P

I rarely have issues with HAL's bullpen logic, but the main glitch I still see is when HAL takes out my lefty specialist against a switch hitter... and replaces him with my righty specialist.

Excellent suggestion...should be simple enough to install and very useful.

I would vote no, until the majority of the people learn to use their bullpen properly.

too many people limit their bullpen to the point where HAL has no options, then come and complain about the bullpen.

I don't want to hear even more complaint threads.

While this is true for sure even when a bullpen is used correctly IMO HAL doesn't get the specialists right.

I think you would need at least three relievers that can pitch to multiple batters. I can just see the starter go four innings, three "max one batter" pitchers pitch the fifth and then Dale Murray finishes the game because he's the only reliever left.
Wait, I have seen that. Murray once pitched 12 no hit innings against me in a 3 game series.
