COuple of player choices

Playing in a Braves's Field '20

I lost Ted Williams as my LH power and got stuck with Medwick. He's not the guy for my team and this park.

Here's what I'm thinking:

Dump Medwick for Chino Smith or Paul Waner and have Hamilton as DH.

Also I somehow think Boggs is overpriced. Would Boudreau be a better choice in that price range and for this team?

If I did that, I would have to dump Appling and find a LH 3B in the $4.5M range to balance the batting order. Pickings are slim in that cataegory. Red Rolfe in the $6.4M range????

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks!

Boggs will undr perform in that park, your infield "D" is a problem in a 120 cap league, I would scrap the five man rotation and draft a .50 mil pitcher for the 5 hole that would never be used apply the savings towards a four man rotaton [ 9+,8+,7+,6+] using the remaing funds to upgrade the middle infield. swap Boggs out for Rolf or J.Johnson .You wll be able to use the savings someplace.

I'm confused as to why Medwick wouldn't work for you in that park, your park is even with no adv one way or the other for a LHB or RHB?

I see you've dumped Boggs and Medwick already, and assume you're planning to platoon O'Neill and Kittle. IMHO a non-platoon of Paul Waner would be far, far better in your park (no injury risk, better defense, better clutch less susceptable to [itching changes). I also agree that a four-man rotation would be better.

Thanks for the replies all. I did end up upgrading my middle D. Didn't ditch the 5 man rotation as for the same money if have a weaker staff. Medwick was not supportive of my teams strategy and has lots of ballpark homers which would be outs in most of this league.

I ended up going with Ross Youngs over Waner. Hopefully that will work out. Waner is a lot of cash.

I suspect he feels Medwick being a power hitter would lose too many HRs to be of max value in a ballpark with such low HR rates.

This.

However, this team has gotten off to a very bad start. I'm resisting my Steinbrenner urges and just let the season play out. I "think" this is a good team and that we will start winning. But jeez it sucks to start 2-4. Makes you start thinking.

Take a look and let me know if you think there is something seriously wrong with my strategy.

I wouldn't get too concerned yet. Look at your dice roll counts.

Yea. Rolling on Leonard's card all day isn't going to get me anywhere.
