http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/view/1106195Play the sports journalist here. Review this squad against primarily heavy small ball division competition. Other parks are Petco, Forbes, and Royal 80. Two of the teams have well over $20 mil. On SP with a star RP.
So how does this L heavy team compete for the preseason.?

No reason for Bresnahan. Go get the 3m Schalk or 3.59 Sanguillen.
Don't need all that $$ tied up in backup C and backup 1b.
Go grab McGee if available for CF, or Kenny Lofton, or Pete Hill
Stanky or Huggins at 2b.
Might find someone cheaper than Gehrig. Or play Ruth at 1b and find a cheaper LF.
Take the money you can save on better value hitters and upgrade that pitching staff................

Agree with Andy on all counts, particularly with Stanky or Huggins over Bishop, who is vastly overrated. Puckett certainly isn't going to help you offensively at home, and neither will your pitchers. If you're going to go cheap on pitching, at least get some who have a better chance of getting LH hitters out.

With Gehrig, why would you even need a backup at 1B? Just click "don't PR for" and you'll never need anyone else at 1B. I don't have a problem with Bresnahan, but use Hershberger as a back-up and save some $ - if he comes in for an injury you don't have to worry about his "Death" injury
