Anybody use Babe Ruth as a pitcher in the ATG7 set? Card looks good; hard to hit, but likes to walk the opposition.

Any results to share?

He had a pretty good season in a 100M league here.

Worth having as an ace starter in a non-DH league.

If you check out the hitting stats on the team I posted, Glavine was better across the board (BA, OBP, and slg.) than
Babe, and Lemon had 5 HR to Babes 1. So when Babe was pitching, he was not hitting.

i do not think strat thought his hitting card out. he should have his own hitting card that the other pitchers do not get due to his bat.

In non-DH leagues he gets pulled for pinch hitters way too much. Don't take him in a non-DH league thinking his hitting matters all that much.

I would think that to try to get him as a pitcher to reduce the chance he will be taken first by somebody else as a hitter you would have to draft him first, and I do not think he is that good a pitcher to take with a first pick. The only fair thing- STRAT GODS ARE YOU LISTENING?- is to make it so that somehow you can draft him as both a hitter and a pitcher using two draft picks. THAT would be awesome. That said, I have only seen him used once by somebody else as a pitcher, and he was the ace for a team I played in the finals, so he did pretty well. Of course if you COULD get him as a pitcher and hitter on the same team, I would probably try to draft him every time. Then you could get him in his second persona as a pitcher or hitter with your 25th pick.
