Jay Alou comes in to PH for my pitcher. WHy did the poor fielding Alou stay in the game at LF? Mickey O'Neil is set as defensive replacement for Torre. Why does this cause Torre to replace Sisler at 1B. and why didn't Tommy Griffith just come in to play D for Williams as he is set to play backup in the lineup page?

My guess is that HAL kept in the guy (Torre) who was likely to bat in the 9th and put the new pitcher in the spot least likely to hit (the injured Williams') and pulled Sisler because you wanted O'Neil in at catcher.

Drives me nuts when HAL brings in the lefty or righty specialist, then the other HAL pinch hits a guy like Jay Alou, and HAL leaves the specialist in to get clobbered. Happens all the time for me now, especially with Dave Roberts.

The other development that has me smashing my keyboard and spilling my coffee in the morning these days is when HAL pinch hits for Dale Murray after one or two innings. I must be a moron to try using a super reliever in a non DH league. He's certainly helping my team win games, but is having Tom McBride hit with a man on and two outs really better than letting Murray pitch three or more innings the rest of the way? This has happened a few times early in the season and it's killing me.
