I have a question for those of you who play in 200 million leagues.

Who would you say is the highest salary player usually left in the free agent pool after waivers?

Overall, and at each position?

I'm just curious who the community feels is a bad value, even when salary is less of an issue.

Checked a few past teams. Listing the top 3 salaries showing on FA wire.

1 - George Sisler, Vlad, Edmonds
2 - Giambi, Bret Boone, Reiser
3 - Clark, Lofton, Wheat
4 - Clark, Lofton, Palmeiro
5 - Chino Smith, Connor, Clark
6 - Connor, Strawberry, Clark

Roger Connor, Jose Canseco, Phil Rizzuto, and Dave Winfield are often available. Pete Reiser and / or Bobby Murcer seem to be the CF Mendoza line.

Carlton Fisk occasionally doesn't get used. Tom Haller in the same boat. Normally though it's Quincy Trouppe, Jason Kendall, Sherm Lollar, and Earl Smith that seem to be freely available.

Dave McNally, Wilbur Wood, Bret Saberhagen, Teddy Higuera, Tim Lincecum seem to be the Mendoza line of starters.

RP's are variable, I have seen Tom Hughes and Bill Henry often not make an opening day roster, with occasional lack of love for Billy O'Dell.

I wouldn't rely too much on tourists who play 200M about as often as our government does something that actually helps people. I've played in 70 200M leagues in ATG VII, so not a tourist. Some thoughts:

Sisler, for example, is on a roster in every single league I have played in. Can't recall Jack Clark or Boone ever going unused although Will Clark pretty much never gets used. Winfield is usually chosen as well.

It's guys like Andruw Jones, O'Connor, Rizzuto, and Jim Edmonds that really stand out as not getting used much. Nor do Max Carey, Leonard, Canseco, Reiser get much action. Personally, I have no use for Porter.

Pitching is very variable. Because of park-specific factors the Mendoza line generally starts below 8.6 M for * starters. Randy Jones and Higuera are the pitchers over the Mendoza line that get the least use.

All the 4M+ relievers are usually taken. Below that, unless you have a specific function to be filled by a Honeycutt or McClure, there seems to be a pretty big drop off in utility for 200M.
