possible league idea

I'm thinking about setting up a league to use non * starters that never get used. My idea is all teams must have a 5 man rotation, all non * starters, and in order to keep them pitching rather than somebody using a super reliever strategy no relievers above 4 mil can be used. I'm not sure if this would work better in a 80 or 100 mil league.
Anybody interested?

So.......there's a bunch of non * starter/relievers that come to mind that I've seen used as super-relievers. What would you do with them? Pedro, Babe Adams, Tom Hall just to name a few? Or am I misreading your proposal?

I'm interested in that idea. As Musial6 indicates, however, you would need to develop a plan upfront to deal with these super-relievers; possibly restricting starters to SP only. I think $100 mil would be the max cap given the restrictions, but $80 or even $60 would work, too. (keep in mind that $60 mil leagues seem to be difficult to fill) I'm with you either way.

I think we can simply say if your gonna use him in relief, he's gotta cost less than 4.00. If somebody wants to use a non * starter that costs less than that as a super reliever they are probably gonna lose a lot of games. We can't stop HAL from using someone in a pinch, but we can stop most guys from getting 200+ innings in relief, or 300+ innings as a starter/reliever. There are still a few relief pitchers under 4.00 who could log a lot of innings, but if the intent of the league is to use non * starters and make them pitch more than 4 or 5 innings per start, I think most guys will comply with the no super reliever idea.

There are 13 non-* starters who cost more than $6. I think that would help make a $100 league, especially with a cap on RP-only pitchers, lean toward being a hitters' paradise.

Okay, next question, should there be a sign up for a private league, or do you guys think a description in the public leagues and peer pressure would be enough to keep the owners in line with the theme.
setup would be:
Full ATG Set/Adv/100m/DH/waivers/5-10-20 drop
Only non* starters may be used, all teams must have a 5 man non* rotation, and all relievers must be priced under $4.00. Any * starters (or relievers priced over $4.00) assigned by the auto-draft must be replaced during or after waivers and may not be carried on your roster during the season.

I would favor a sign-up for a private league.

I concur with private league setup.
