Weak rating... with diamonds?

I'm new-ish to the ATG sets, having only begun to play them this year. So this is the first time I recall seeing a batter rated weak on either side of the card, yet still having points of bphr.

Referring to Dahlen's 1896 card: http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/pl ... 271/348357

Rated weak vs rhp, yet with 2 bphr points (on the 1-11, in case I cronked the link). Typo, or does this occur occasionally in the ATG sets?

I get that it works logically, such that homerun chances on pitchers' cards become single chances... if that's how it works in ATG. Does anyone know of other examples?

There are others - Joe Kelley, Sam Thompson, Jesse Burkett to name a few. I think this was to keep guys who had good (8-12) HR years in big HR parks from knocking the snot out of pitchers from tough HR parks silly when playing in the hitter's park.

Cool. Wonder if it was discontinued for making c&d play seem a bit weird.

Thanks for the heads up.

the weak rating on the batters card applies when the result of the roll lands on the pitchers card [HR] . In those instances the batter with the [ W ] will not be credited with a Home Run but a single** instead, that being said the only instance in which a [W] rated hitter can hit a home run is when the result of the dice roll lands on his card.
