Ok admittedly I shouldn't have done a high cap for my first ATG experience. I stupidly thought, oh more money to play with.

2B: Nap Lajoie
SS: Lloyd/Wright platoon
3B: Jud Wilson
LF: Cristobal/Wild Bill Wright platoon
CF: Speaker
RF: Ichiro
DH Chuck Klein

League is a mashup of neutral, LH leaning, RH leaning parks. I'm one of only 2 pitchers parks, only 1 hitters parks. My division, has 1 RH, 1 LH and 1 neutral. http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/league/348474

I don't like how LH my team is, but not really a lot I can do with the FA market. Any suggestions or things to look for?

My initial reaction is you have too many expensive subs.

If any higher value prospects are still on the free agent wire, you might look into converting some combinations of them into them while carrying a few .50 centers just to fill out your roster requirement. Or maybe you're planning on a more intricate platooning system - I don't know. But not sure why you'd be carrying a 3+ Biggio when you already have Lajoie?

Same way on pitching staff - you have 5 really high dollar starters when you only need 4 and really only want to start 4 - the fifth is a waste that you could use on upgrading your hitters (if that's still possible in the FA market).

well as the SP goes, the goal was since there is a RH leaning and LH leaning teams, I could play either a RH or LH respectively, and they both have a RP rating as well, as use them in relief otherwise. Though that maybe rather foolish of me....

As far as hitting, I just had extra money. I kept the Biggio because if I drop him I know someone else will scoop him up for the 9 mil version, I'd rather use that extra $$ to keep him away. the only other high dollar sub I have is Lansford, which was there as a backup for 1B and 3B, as well as a RH bat vs RHP in case I face a heavily LH slanted RHSP (since I only have 2 RH Hitters vs RHP).

Again, that is my thinking. The FA list if pretty much filled up with the guys I would expect if I was in a hitters park.

Edmonds, Mize, B Boone, Reiser, Connor, Salmon, T Gwynn, Strawberry, Puckett, D Winfield, Sandberg, Canseco are the top dollar guys.

Problem was after filling my team I had over 10 mil left, hence the expensive 5th SP/RP and expensive backups/platoons.

Think the only OF and DH you have that Id use here is Speaker- maybe one of the others but not all 3.
Would try and get guys around him that give you more production in that park- Im saying this specifically because its a fairly high cap- at lower caps those same guys could work fine.

Id upgrade the other guys plus C and 3b- and at SS I would use one cheaper guy, because that combo to me isn't worth the money you have to spend on it- so better to use that money elsewhere and get one less expensive SS.
Also would drop Biggio, not sure what you plan to use him for since you have Napster.

Try to trade Biggio for a better C, RF, or SS. There's a guy with Utley at 2B and 5 solid OF's - see if you can get Maris or Heilmann from him for Biggio. Then get rid of Wright and get a guy that backs up both SS and 2B - depending on cap room you can use Dykes, McDougald, Herzog, or somebody. Dick Lundy?

Drop Wild Bill and get a cost-effective platooner like Neil Robinson or Tommie Agee or someone - search for LF's who are 3L or further L in the advanced settings. You should never spend more for the RH half of a platoon than for the LH half. Ideally, you'd like to spend about 40%.

There are lots of effective $6 mil catchers around, you ought to be able to find one. Dutch Daulton is a good two-way LH bat, you can get Johnny Romano to platoon with him if you want but I'd just use him with Hershberger as a sub.

Pick up Dick Ellsworth and Kerry Wood as your specialist starters, and dump Bradley and one of your relievers if necesssary to clear cap room. Now your rotation is Maddux / Paige with Grove / Ellsworth or Taylor / Wood at the back end (or Taylor / Grove against balanced lineups).

Ray Knight is a way better cheap RH 3B than Carney.
