So here's what happens when HAL inserts not one, but two relief pitchers at F0 consecutively in the 6th inning:

I've never understood, if you program your pitchers to be relieved at F6 or F4, why HAL would insert them into the game at F0. It's not like I didn't have rested relief available. It was the second straight game HAL used McBean at F0.

Thank goodness it only counts for one loss!

#1 Flaw in SOM online game. A command to REMOVE a RP when a certain certain F factor kicks in.
I bet all of us have had these disaster innings where an F0 RP is left out of to dry.

I'm guessing the fact that you were already down 9-1 in the 4th inning had something to do with it...

Hard to explain that one. One of many glitches that makes this on-line game either hateable or potientially loveable. Poor Mark Clear though, a third of an inning and 13 runs --- imagine going back into the club house after that.

my guess is Hal's programming identified this as a "game already lost" and did not want to use a rested reliever who might be able to contribute to a win in the next game. (Let's face it, you were down 9-1 and your team ended up with only 3 runs in the game. Even if Hal had put in the best reliever in the game, your team would have lost this one).

Yes, the loss could not be certain by the 6th, but I suspect that was the Hal logic.

On the other hand, that 5th starter (Rick Wise) probably would have been the logical sheep to slaughter (instead of Mark Clear, whose confidence and arm might get broken from that kind of beating)

Interesting 6th by the way. only 6 rolls off the pitcher's card (2 of which were gb-x where the batter reached base and one a BP single that was in fact a single) against 14 rolls on the hitters card. Had it not been for two 2-7 rolls on Paul O'Neil's card for strikeouts, the inning could still be going.

Its been a while, but if Im remember correctly something like that actually did happen to Clear in his time with the Red Sox. Think it was only 8 runs maybe.

Also, Hackra-
there is definitely the possibility that the fatigue factor forces more rolls on the batters card- we don't know exactly how the game engine overrides the card results with fatigue, so just a guess on my part.

When a pitcher reaches his POW readings (skip the mechanic settings e.g., F6) why wouldn't the offline and PC rules not apply?

All Advanced-side pitcher cards have out readings followed by a dot. When a pitcher is fatigued, these readings change from their original outs to SINGLE** (all other runners advance two bases)

So long as the dice roll on a hitters card, the fatigue factor wouldn't apply to a worn-out arm pitcher.

I disagree. Hal shows no emotion and is unable to situation manage. This is why he tries daring base running when the situation calls for care.
