So who has read Joe Posnanski's strat card blog and wants to comment on it?

I just read it. I would say that was strange. Making fictional stats for ones self, then saying, yep, I am equal to an all time great baseball player. And then with your fictional stats, deciding that you would dominate another all time great baseball player.
All that's missing is to be like every other 12 year old boy, he needs to join his favorite football team after the World Series victory and throw 50 TD passes and then win the Super Bowl.

That's 5 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Thanks, Joe.

He did say that SOM created his stats for him, he had no input.

A lot of writing for 10 rolls of the dice.

I thought some of the comments were fun. Here's one from the commentor "Craig:"

I’ll be honest. I was kind of hoping they would simply put your name on a Duane Kuiper card.

What a fun gesture from the Strat people! Also, this was a fun project. I’m kind of wondering what a lineup of saber-friendly writers would look like, and what ALL your strat cards would be. You, Neyer, James, Tango, etc.

Perhaps we all need our own card so we can play leagues with them. I know for a fact that if I took the time to pitch in MLB, my card would have nothing but strikeouts and popouts on it.

Joe apparently doesn't know the clutch hitting rule either. A walk followed by a couple of shallow fly balls does not get to a clutch hitting situation.

One of thing I really got out of this article is context of a disconnect between strat enthusiasts and strat powers that be.

Strat passes out a George Brett card (really, Joe is being nicely sacarastic on this point). Its kind of like a bribe,
and its kind of an unwanted, and its kind of uncomfortable. Its like, hey, you guys show up for randomness, lottery credits and so forth.

When, in reality and IMHO, we have an enthusiasm for a game whose rules are believeable, realistic, reliable and historic. And that the game can change.

Its like the power that be want to be Barnum and Bailey, and I come back hoping they will be a fair and unpartial umpire to the game itself. It feels better when teams do well if there is more deserving and less luck in the outcome.

Got a little off track on this one.
But all in all, it felt like the gesture to Joe was nice but awkward.
And Joe followed that up with an article was nice but awkward.
