$80M league, post WW2, no DH. Division stadiums are Jack Murphy, Comisky '78 and PNC '05. My strategy is to grab 3 top SPs who will get me lots of innings and no bullpen. Use money to load up on LH bats with power.
I got Ernie Banks in the draft, but I don't think he's a good fit and I don't know who to replace him with. There are no LH shortstops with power and good D. Starting pitching in my division is 50% LHP and 50% RHP.
http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/1125871I haven't been putting together very good teams lately, so any help is appreciated.
Thanks

To adress only the Banks question, if you did not get Arky there are no LH power hitting shortstops (with a range of 1 or 2) to be had. With 50% LHP, you may consider the 5L Banks. An option that will get you a lefty with power 50% of the time is switch hitting Jimmy Rollins, but the choices are limited.

I would allocate that money for Banks on another LH hitter as you are playing in Yankee 56. Go cheap at SS. You already have Williams as RH protection vs lefty pitchers - it's an 80 million cap and you have to maximize your park - usually, for LH power parks I would go with at least 4 LH power sources - you have only two in Snider & Fielder. Oglivie would do nice in that park for that cap and whatever is left, use for SS

Here is a 80M Post WWII league with a couple Yankee stadiums in use. Keep Banks and Matt Williams. Get a better 2B than Sandy Alomar.

Go cheap with Gary Templeton at ss and add a a bigger lefty bat to your offense.

I'm with Johnny on this one. You need at least 4 lefty bats that have power BOTH ways. In fact, being 1L might even be better in some cases (lefty hitter who is even or slightly better vs lefty pitcher)

Made some moves, lost OBP but added LH power (B. Williams in left and Reggie in right). Upgraded 2B with extra money, but may go back to Alomar because he's bulletproof and use the extra money to get Johnny Edwards instead of Whitt or improve SP.
