live draft question

why is it so difficult to get 12-24 people for a live draft? Dont people prefer being at the helm of their ship rather than having a computer steer the boat? Is it the time commitment? The lack of confidence in your drafting skills? I figure getting to choose the players you want instead a computer making ur team for you would be the thing to go for, no?

Scott.

None of the above for most.

Its as simple as the community is very small. On top of that most of us here have many teams already and/or are involved in regular running leagues with the same group of guys (check the individual league forum).

I have ten teams going and that is enough and they are all live draft teams. Part of the problem is the leagues that are created spread out the people that would potentially join. The best way to get a live draft to fill is to create an advanced 999mil league with a 45 second clock with a frenzy (no waivers) after the draft. Do it on a Friday or Saturday night around 9 or so. Don't pick a time when there are other live drafts that have different caps and draft times that are also trying to fill. Most of us with many teams will still draft new teams at around one every week or two if the league parameters are to our liking.

isn't a 999mil draft just open for abuse, like using multiple pitching cards of the same player so that u are starting the same guy 2 or 3 games in a row?
or using the same player with a different card to platoon.

Scott.

Of ten current 999mil leagues, I have only seen one team switch out hitter cards a little bit. It's not helping him.
