I was looking through WikiStats and came upon the ATG7 list of updates and noticed that the last addition of players to ATG7 was

March 22, 2012: 25 new cards added to ATG VI (Batch #7)

If I remember, it was the time of the big crash and obviously new cards were a low priority. However, 2 years later and we still don't even have our player ratings back. I know its must be tedious to reload old games but I read sometime last year they had loaded the majority of old teams and that they only had the really old leagues to finish.

I understand financial considerations are important but I'm getting really tired of the ATG7 set. I recall the anticipation of new players and how fun it was to incorporate them into teams. I guess wondering if anyone else feels that there might be a problem and that perhaps SOM might poll us to find out what our priorities might be. Six team leagues don't do anything for me.

Some just mentioned on a recent topic that the ATG7 leagues are getting hard to fill and there seems to be a malaise within the community. Spot on baby!

I agree with you 100%, but we're "preachin to the choir" SOM is not going to listen. Customer service? What's that? Go to your team page and look at your team fielding. How long has that "Pardon our dust......" Statement been on there about the pitchers fielding stats?

I think as they progressed into the manager ratings venture they found out they were in over their heads and it is not cost effective to compile manager ratings. They found out that many managers created multiple profiles to take advantage of the new customer rates. Do they attempt to (A) merge all profiles to who the real managers are, (B) create separate ratings for all of these "new" managers or (C) forget about the whole thing and hope we don't bug them about it. I think they picked option (C). They used to give us progress reports on the manager ratings but ceased mentioning it in the blogs. Even though the rating system was somewhat flawed, it takes advantage of the average baseball fans love of stats. Just watching your profile name climb the ratings page helped encourage managers to play more teams. It also helped in making friends as names became familiar. With SOM deciding to look the other way on managers creating multiple profiles, it has helped to maintain anonymity. Without being familiar with who your opponents are, less rivalries are formed, less games are played and less money spent at SOM.
