(Sorry I haven't been as proactive as I should: it's been a tough couple of months, but things are okay now).

Here is the link to the ninth batter card addition survey based on the wish list compiled over the last few years through the desires of the SOM playing community on various threads. The wish list link is in the PS. Please vote for those cards that you think have a place in the set, knowing that we all have different interests (60 mil, 80, 100, 140, 200, franchise, keeper, shuffle...). Some of the players are those that fit a kind of generational void for particular franchises at particular positions. You can vote for each player on a scale from "very unimportant" to "very important". To validate your selections, please click on "next page" which will take you to an ad for the web site. You can then close the tab.

Even if you think that it will serve no purpose, please vote. This is especially important given the push for new cards (please sign the petition). I try to list a reasonable variety of players (years, teams, abilities, attraction to various subsets...). I have reduced the number of players slightly. You may be disappointed that the player you are looking for isn't on this poll. Don't worry, he will be at some point. Any additions to the main wish list (address down below)? Just note them on the thread and I'll get them loaded up. (Remember, you don't have to vote for every player on the survey).

(just to remind you, the color code is as follows):

red: highly important
yellow: important
light blue: okay
dark blue: hmmm
purple: not really

Thanks!.... Are there more player survey's to be taken (it appears that there are)? I did take the pitchers one, but since these are numbered it looks like I might have missed a bunch of them. I will go back and try to find them, thanks!

I try to get to put out a new survey (a pitchers' survery and a hitters' survey) every month (though I was a bit swamped a couple of months ago). The surveys try to incorporate a little bit of everything (big names, bit players, players that fill needs in franchises, franchises that are underrepresented, names that have appeared regularly on the boards....) -- something for everyone. The surveys usually last around 3 weeks or so. There have been as many as 100 names on the surveys, though recently there have been 60. The next hitters' survey will probably have more names so we can have as much voice as possible in the addition to ATG.

I would like a Ken Hobbs 1962 ROY and GG card. He deserves it.

I think John Smiley would be a good addition to the pitching list; his 20 win season would be nice.
