its never a good time for a makeover if you will do so through free agency. but trading is always good. Personally I don't put much merit in high salaried starting pitching, 8mil guys are always the best value. 10mil guys just waste 2mil I can put into greater hitters.

This is unlikely to improve with your existing lineup, you may be over performing right now.

Trades/FA to beef up your lineup vs RH with even/biased RH power is your only option. See if you can get a McGWire or Wilson/Kiner for Johnson.

It is a misnomer that just grabbing some RH hitters and parking them in MM results in wins.

Note: Work out ALL the numbers before you make ANY moves. Mistakes are often made without this approach and they can be costly.

Dump Reggie Jackson and Ben O and use this money elsewhere.

Get rid of Higggy and replace with better SP choice (check the BA against your pitchers by hand, ugh)

Revamp RP settings, Percival has only 2 IP and Linzy has 13

Man Ram is too fragile for this team

Find a better options than Spoony

Here are the challenges IMHO:

C- replace Spoony
1B - Bags is OK
2B- Scales is OK, but find a better defense replacement
3B - Schmidt good
SS - Wells Good

OF - Brown is the only keeper.

The rest: Keep Brown, but any of the rest can go. I like Rogan, but only if you have some boppers after him. Reggie, Man Ram, Ben O and Belle are either a waste or 2nd Tier. Keep Belle but only if you cannot find a better option and find a cheap RH platoon mate that hits LHs.

I noticed that you have four lefty bashing hitters on your team - Schmidt, Rogan Bagwell, Ramirez, but you have faced RH pitchers more than 3 times as many as LH pitchers. Why have four if you are not facing a preponderance of lefties? Schmidt (his numbers will eventually climb) and Bagwell might be worth that trade off, but you can trade/dump Rogan, Ramirez as well as Ogilve. I like the power of Belle and Willard Brown has always delivered for me. Schmidt is severely underperforming and should do much better but your choice of rh hitters whose power is vs lefties is probably hurting you

13 Mil tied up on Oglivie/Rogan is too much for part time players. Has to be better options for CF defense out there.

Is Percival a recent addition?

If he has been on roster all year and only 2 innings that is wasted money. Might as well trade or drop him and use the money to improve offense against RH pitching.
