ATG8 - Single Most Important New Feature

If you have to pick only one must have- single most important new feature for ATG8 - what would it be?

(New cards are a given. don't include that in your response).

For me it would be customized R/L lineups you could set for both stadiums and also by opposing pitchers.

This would be huge for me. I can't imagine it would be that hard to implement either. It would be much more important than the lame shuffle your deck feature or 30sec draft turns.

Steal options for each base. You could set aggressive to steal 2b, and select DO NOT STEAL 3b if you wanted to

I am with Steve F. on the steal options for each base. However, I will mention that the new CD-ROM has the feature where you can customize more R/L lineup options.

Platoons that work.
Platoon priority. Set a "Platoon Pair" or whatever it should be called. One of them is "Priority". The Priority guy replaces the non-Priority guy every time he's about to face a RH or LH handed pitcher where he's weak.

J Alou and Wes Covington are the Platoon Pair. Covington is checked as priority.
J Alou only sees a RHP due to another players injury, he gets pulled every single time a RHP enters the game. Take lumps with Covington if a LHP enters the game, but this is a lot better than what we have now.

absolutely. I am sick of a Mark Brouhard facing a tough righty reliever in the 8th innings just because he started vs a lefty starter!

The platoon pair would be a good edition and I would like to see steal settings per game instead of settings for an entire series. I like to steal against those +1's but not against the -2 pitchers ! Should be a simple and useful addition ! 8-)

I'd like to see a more realistic bullpen version--one that makes it more difficult to use a super-reliever by limiting his inning rating (no more R-5s or R-4s) or increasing his fatigue rating dramatically after he appears in back-to-back games or exceeds his innings rating), one that allows you to use a LH-specialist or RH-specialist against LH or RH hitters only, one that more closely resembles today's game in which 11- or 12-man bullpen staffs are a good thing and one that encourages your fifth non* starter to be used in cases other than an injury to one of your *starters. It also would make for more realistic franchise or era leagues to allow super-stud, pre-1930s *starters to be used as one-inning closers after two days of rest without then forcing them to rest for two days before starting again.

"yawn" Then I just put all my money into rotation and F5 them all. ;)
