PostMon May 19, 2014 6:38 pm

40 views and not a single possible answer.

I tried doing some research and could not find a potential answer. Detroit's record that year was 101-61. That adds up to 162 games. I saw where there was one suspended game. So that could account for the game 163. But I thought a suspended game and the subsequent completion would be considered one game. Seems to me the number of wins and losses should add up to the number of games played.

I confess to being baffled on this question.

His injury is only for the remainder of the game. I wonder if he finished all 163 games that he played in?

Finishing all the games he played in for real life is irrelevant. Rest of game injury status is solely based on having the 680 PAs. You could even miss an entire week or whatever and have only rest of game status if you were a top of the order guy who got the extra plate appearances. A weakness in the injury system that we have to live with. Leadoff hitters have less injury risk than #8 hitters as a result.

so if a player plays in all games but doesn't get 680 PA's he won't be 0 inj.
Kirby Puckett's 1988 card listed has a 0 inj. But does have a inj. on card. he played 158 games 680 PA's
