and like Charlie Brown we keep believing that things here might change even as we crash to the earth.
Well, we've had our SOM "teaser" re the phantom launch of ATG 8. TSN used to preview cards, SOM can't even be bothered with even the most perfunctory status update.
I see this as the logical progression of their complete "f..k you" attitude toward the community. Well, Mr. Richman et al.- right back at ya.
I wish SOM was a publicly traded company. I would so love to be able to short sell their stock.

Ive just never understood why it would be difficult to simply say:
'it wont be ready today or this weekend,
we will update you on Monday regarding the anticipated start date'
When we can't make an appointment with anyone, dont we usually send a note just b/c we want dont want to blow them off?
Dont people get twice as upset when nothing is said as when there is even a simple note?
See, for the people who have suggested that its up to us to improve things- this is why I get irritated!

What would you guess the company (SOM) is worth? I wonder what kind of revenue they actually clear. If the rest of the business is like the online game, I can't imagine how they stay in business.

If there is one thing we should have learned from this company after all these years is...
Expect Nothing.
Then you won't be disappointed when they actually...
do something.

The average price of a home in the town where Hal Richman resides is currently $768,000. He doesn't seem to have done too badly for himself.

Because NO ONE at SOM understands what Customer Service means. Let me help THEM.
Customer service is the provision of service to customers before, during and after a purchase. According to Turban et al. (2002),[1] "Customer service is a series of activities designed to enhance the level of customer satisfaction – that is, the feeling that a product or service has met the customer expectation."

Along those lines, what do you think the online portion of Strat is worth? Say you're Dan Gilbert and (after LeBron doesn't come back to Cleveland) you are looking for a new toy to play with. What would it take to buy online Strat?

My (admittedly wild) guess is Richman might want to hold onto it as long as he is alive. I believe he is almost 80 but his father lived well into his 90's. But he does deem himself a successful small businessman so he might be persuaded to part with the online game, but he'd probably still want hefty royalties.

Hate to spoil the party but... this was Garcia's post:
Speaking of ATG 8's release, I still don't have an exact date. However it's very possible for ATG 8 to be available before the July 4th weekend. No promises at this time but we are working hard on getting it out then. Pricing is in the final stages and once that is complete (and some website maintenance) we should be ready to launch.
I've learned to abide byRedRum666's post. I expect NOTHING from Stratomatic. So I'm not disappointed.
