Can you name the five players with the most seasons BETWEEN their 40HR seasons?

6. Willie Mays 6 seasons (1955/1961)
6. Willie McCovey 6 seasons (1963/1969)

Reggie Jackson 1969 & 1980- 10 seasons

Jose Canseco 1991 & 1998 - 7 seasons

Greenberg, Mays and McCovey had five seasons in between their 40 HR seasons, not six. Well I suppose it depends how you count it, but they each had FIVE seasons in between the 40 HR seasons where they did not hit 40.

Well, I was counting the intervening years and the next 40HR season. So I had Reggie with 11 seasons as well......

One Hall of Famer left, one non-Hall guy
WW2 helped create on of these situations, similar to Greenberg's case.
The other was injuries and inconsistency..........

Carl Yaz. has an interesting set of homerun stats. Three times he finished with more than 40 homeruns in a season, but he never was in the 30's.
