1951 Bobby Thomson is a '1' at CF and a '2' at 3B. Can't remember ever seeing that combo before.
Wilie Mays, 1957- 11.11 M
Carlos Delgado, 2000- 9.49 M
Joe DiMaggio, 1948- 9.46 M
Al Rosen, 1953- 9.06 M
John Olerud, 1993- 9.00 M
Hughie Jennings, 1896- 8.94 M
Sam Crawford, 1911- 8.53 M
Andres Galarraga, 1998- 8.23 M
Lefty O'Doul, 1929- 7.67 M
Gary Sheffield, 2003- 7.57 M
Chipper Jones, 2008- 7.40 M
Bobby Thomson, 1951- 6.69 M
Edgar Martinez, 1997- 6.59 M
Pete Rose, 1968- 6.34 M
Mo Vaughn, 1995- 5.97 M
Vern Stephens, 1949- 5.90 M
Richie Ashburn, 1955- 5.84 M
Heinie Groh, 1917- 4.96 M

Looking at the new Mays card not as excited as I thought I might be. 30/30 season but least powerful Mays card. With 15-13 steal ratings I would probably set him not to steal which negates that side but bet those steals are factored in to price.

Why is Olerud a 3?

Don't think Hughie Jennings has enough HBP's...

A little bummed that Vern Stephens is a 3 but if anyone is going to throw defense to the wind it will be me.

Interesting defensive combo on Thomson. Will be interesting to see how people use him.
Like having 1 range in CF and the -3 arm. Flinch a little at the e16.

Not real excited about Drysdale. It is another S/R pitcher which I lean toward at times. So maybe if it had been a cadillac card.

Like to see a 1997 Charles Johnson card.

Agreed. This one shocked me too. I always thought he was a GG caliber 1bman. He won 3 GG

I do appreciate the additions and that SOM got them out before they said they would.
Well first base is no longer a critical position at live drafts, 3rd also to a much lesser extent though.
I do think that Bobby Thompson is the most interesting card of the set. Never knew him as a gazelle. The CF and LF ratings are thought provoking -a 1 (-3) e-max (before they made advanced error ratings), and viable at 3b as well. Not many power hitting 1-17 running at that position. Lots of interesting tradeoffs with this guy.
I would have preferred Rivera's best year given that he is probably the best reliever to ever take the mound.
Jennings is a light slugging version of Dahlen with better OBP. He'll get a lot of use. Not sure Mays, Rose and Dimaggio add a whole lot.
Next batch I'm hoping for players to benefit lower caps more, we do seem to be running a bit low on superstar seasons from the real old timers.
