Experience with Charleston 12.89 card?

This is the first team I have drafted in almost a year. I missed on Mantle and got Charleston instead. My recollection is that this card was always on the waiver wire, and the one time I used it, it severely underperformed. There are not many good options for me on the free agent list so I am considering keeping him. I was wondering if anyone who uses this card could share their experience concerning how it has done for them. The raw numbers are certainly excellent, but as I said, he always seems to be on the free agent list.

Thanks for any help!

Gregg

This wasn't my team, but I remember him from this ATG7 league:

Thanks for the replies!

It's interesting that on the small ball team, despite good numbers, he was outhit by both Hornsby and Heilmann.

All I will say is Donfesq, one of the best managers in strat, always takes Oscar Charleston in the first round of every draft I have been in with the Donster. He always goes with a left handed slanted team and stadium. Don has won more rings in our league than any other coach. I believe he is one of the leaders in championships in all of strat, now how about that.

Charleston and Stearnes both great, but I like The Duke in the same price range

Well, that's a pretty good endorsement. I like The Duke as well, but I have never gotten value for my $$ out of him for some reason. Thanks to everyone for their input, I think I will keep Oscar and see how he works out.

Ok just for that, I'll go righty next time.

Charleston is great. He's expensive so usually not the best choice in 80-100m. But I'll take him every time in a live draft and feel good about it.

The first example given had Charleston's home park as a right handed power park which reduced his power numbers. He hit 8 homers out of 27 ball park rolls.

That's very useful information, not just for this example but in general. How can you tell that?
