Anyone joining this league...one mistake in rules. It is listed as all teams can select 2 players from negro league roster and all teams except yankee franchise can choose 2 position players from negro league roster. It should be..... all teams can select 2 pitchers from negro league roster and all teams except yankees can also select 2 position players from negro league roster. Sign up!!

When and how do you make these NEL selections - in a supplemental draft or just through luck of the autodraft?

No not a supplemental draft. Just part of your regular initial draft. 4 possible players from negro league rosters. ...2 pitchers and 2 position players. yankees can only add 2 pitchers.

Another question:
Can you use any version of a player - any card, whether it's carded to your franchise or not?

Always got a kick out of the theme leagues where the guy that invents the theme also selects the team with the best chance by far to completely dominate the league....
Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle, Dimaggio, Jeter, A-Rod....How many other franchises have access to 6 10m+ hitters...But what the Yanks don't have is expensive SPs...hence the ammendment to the original rules. LMAO.
Very well played jeromewilkens very well played.

Yeah - other teams have a handful like the Cards - Musial, McGwire, Pujols, Hornsby - and almosts like Clark, Edmonds, Torre and Medwick. Giants have Mays, McCovey, Bonds, Ott, Mitchell, etc. Guess it just depends who wins the free-for-all for the NEL position players - Gibson, Wells, Beckwith, Charleston etal. That might even things up. I was surprised the Cubs weren't selected for their wealth of early pitching talent, plus not too shabby hitters over the years.

I like franchise leagues and I very rarely get the yankees. The yanks do not win them all the time by any stretch. No one has to join. I was also going to ask the franchises if they want to do more than one league with different twists on the rules and changing franchises. So not so well played on your part Mr nevdully without knowing all the facts.

Well, I didn't see this post until now. I joined the league this morning after reading and following the rules in the league notes. So guess I'm screwed - I only put two NEL players on my draft card, and I won't be around for waivers tonight. Great.
I'll ask this again in a different way, by example: if Clemens' highest price card goes with a franchise that isn't used, and I have a Clemens card for my franchise, can I use his card? Or, is he completely off limits because his highest value card isn't to my (or any other) selected franchise?
And another example: If I have McGwire's highest value card assigned to my franchise, can I use a lesser value card of his even though its carded to another, unselected franchise?

Oh I didn't know you were gonna do all that...all I saw was you amend the rules to benefit the weak Yankee staff...but listen, put a few different spins on the next couple of themes you run with your two free credits from this one....
Very well done sir.

Or, I got screwed in the NEL draft. Why can't I use George Brett, Walter Johnson and Jeff Bagwell
