Hall of Fame--Who Gets in today?

Not who should or shouldn't, but who will?

I say Pedro, Randy Johnson, Smoltz, and Biggio.

I agree - just think that there should be at least 1 more (Piazza)!!

Definitely agree. Some will argue there should never be more than three. However, if the HOF can induct none if none are worthy, they should definitely induct four (or more) if they are definitely worthy. Johnson, Smoltz, and Martinez are no-brainers; and Biggio is worthy and has waited long enough.

Raines is worthy, too, but he can wait a year or two more.

Everything I've read about those who tally the results of writers who've made their vote public indicate the four Andy listed will be elected today, and that Piazza is likely but not certain as well - he will get very close to 75 percent. If we do happen to have five new members of the Baseball HOF today, it will be historic - the only time since the initial 1936 class of Ruth, Cobb, Wagner, Johnson and Mathewson.

One more vote for those four. I would vote for more than those but think those four will make it.

And four get in with the Unit getting 97.3%. Another 6 or 7 votes of the 549 submitted and he would have passed Seaver for highest %.

All four very deserving players. I consider myself fortunate to have enjoyed many a Big Unit game in Seattle, with game 3 of the 95 playoffs vs Yanks probably the highlight! :D

There are literally people not voting for players like RJ and Pedro because they don't want them to get in unanimously, which is ridiculous. Seaver, Pedro, and RJ are all non-brainers and should have been inducted unanimously. Too many voters use their votes as expressions of personal agenda instead of doing the job and intelligently voting for the right players.

Raines has been on the ballot 8 years so he still has time. 55% this year. He started at 24% and has risen to 55% so he still has hope. His main problems are cocaine and playing the same time Rickey Henderson was playing so people didn't realize how good he really was during the 80s.
