If you have played Strat then you have a bad beat story(more like 100) however the way this played out I just can't help but post.

Bottom of the 9th with '86 Tom Henke card on the mound and I have a 1 run lead.

0 E.Murray 6-10 1 Base Error - 3B b-1 gb(3B)x F9
0 1 A.Belle 1-5 Walk 1-2 b-1 F9
0 12 D.Winfield 1-5 Walk 2-3 1-2 b-1 F9
0 123 J.Romano 1-5 Double (CF) 3-H 2-H 1-3 b-2 F9

I've only played in 10 Strat Computer leagues but this is worst beat I can remember. I've been playing Strat since 1980 there is probably another beat just as bad but it's not coming to mind. The error I can handle but 3 straight 1-5's for RH Batters against Henke????? The capper being Romano and his .241 4L card crushing a GW Double??? Some numbers guy if you're bored could you please post odds of this happening? I'm going with just shy of infinity to 1

So there are 216 possible outcomes for each roll.... 50/50 for pitcher vs hitter, 1/3 to then hit the 1 column, then 4/36 to hit the 5 roll. That gives the 1-5 a 1.8% chance of hitting on each roll. Take that to the 3rd power for 3 consecutive hits, and you come up with a 0.0064% chance, or about 1 in 160,000.

Welcome to strat online - good to have you aboard to revel in the unlikely victories and mourn these ugly defeats!

Dice have no memory. There is an equal chance of rolling the 1-5 each time.

My cousin Sal has a set of dice that'll roll 1-5 every time. Haven't spoken to him for 20 years, he's due out in 2020 from Rahway State Pen...

Rolls of that nature happen to me at least 3-4 times per night resulting in a BLOWN save every time. I call it EVIL Hal!!
