Don't know if you have seen this about new injury charts for both pitchers and batters. It is on page four of the SOM newsletter:

https://s3.amazonaws.com/som.com/Strat-O-Matic+News+Winter+2016.pdf?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=CLICK%20HERE%20TO%20DOWNLOAD&utm_campaign=SOM%20News%20Winter%202016%20Edition

It says that is only for cards issued in 2016, and I don't know if that would include the 20xx set online (and I can't imagine it being implemented any time soon here in ATG). In any event, it would have a significant impact on injuries (anywhere up to 60 games, and pitchers would have an individual injury rating and could be injured pitching to any batter).

Our league uses this injury rule: since returning from an injury follows an inexact timetable, if a player is injured, roll the 20 sided die--if a 20 is rolled he is out for the game, otherwise he is indefinitely injured. In each subsequent game roll the 20 sided die-the first game, if a 20 is rolled, he returns; the second game, if a 19 or 20 is rolled, he returns..... with each game the chances of him returning increase by 5%. We have found that this adds a bit of real life uncertainty to our league.

I think I like the revised injury rules. Not sure what parameters are used to determine injury "proneness", but the potential for a 60 game injury for someone who did not have a ton of at bats.

One thing I did like with the boardgame and the super-advanced rules- the potential for a player needing a day off, based upon how many games they appeared in real life.

I think both the required days off and longer injury potential make it tougher to use that 300 at bat guy as an everday regular, which I think should be a goal of the game to encourage realisitic or perhaps more accurately "historically accurate" use of players.

Wish there was something similar for pitchers, hopefully that could discourage some of the overuse of relievers I have seen. Though I think for pitchers in particular, though this holds true with players as well - games appeared in is more helpful IMO to determine durability/reliability as opposed to innings pitched or plate appearances.
