if I remember correctly from my head to head table top days that when calculating the hold and doing the -2 for holding the runner on and factoring in the catchers arm a hold max of +6 is the most allowed even if the number calculated is higher. Also I believe that no matter the number when applied to the runners steal rating number that there is no automatic safe steal of a base that the max would be safe 1-19 out on a 20. I could be wrong but that's how I recall the rules. Bill

I believe you are correct. Makes one think. If hold rating is factored in to price, and catcher TA factored in to price, saving the money by having both a plus armed catcher and multiple plus hold pitchers could save you some money even while the max penalty of the combined values is minimized by the rules of max penalty.
But would that be sufficient to be taken advantage of as a team theme?

Actually I believe the Max combined is +5, so for a +9 hold Pitcher only Pudge Rodriguez would get him to +4 stealing against.. .

thanks. still could be brutal against a base stealing team and definitely make the A and B rated stealers come more into play.

If one were to put together such a theme team any recommendations on ideal cap.
Always assumed lower caps gaining unpaid for value was more beneficial At higher caps that little extra cap money often just gets more expensive unused bench players. But how low would you need to go for this value grab to be beneficial?
What type ballpark would be ideal? Since opponents would always have max steal capabilities assume one would want low ballpark singles. Would ballpark homers matter at all?
